+ Why are Kwikwap websites so cheap? Because we use our own software that we developed over a three year period that makes it very easy to create a website. Now we can use normal people (without IT experience) to create your website. Our software program works like a charm and we can quickly and easily give you fully interactive websites in approximately two hours. + What is the Members Area on your websites? It is an area that is closed to the public and only members may enter there with the use of a username and password. + Can you also make websites in other languages? At the moment we can do your website in Afrikaans as well. Other languages to follow soon. + Should one combine a website with a pay-per-click advertising campaign? It is highly recommended! Internet advertising is the most effective marketing campaign that you can do for the least amount of money. One day all advertising will be like pay-per-click. Pay-per-click is a type of advertising that shows your product or service when the user is actually looking for you! + How many website templates and/or combinations do you have? We have three major categories of lay outs that you can choose from:
1) completely customisable --> you choose your own graphics, fonts and colours to make your website look unique and exactly to your requirements
2) semi customisable --> a basic frame is given to you with matching colours but you can change certain things on your website look & feel (like the font and logo on your website)
3) set templates --> you choose from a large variety of fixed templates. The advantage of these templates is that you can instantly have a professional looking website (you only need to add the text and some pictures!) + So what does one have to do to optimise a website for Google? It changes just about every week. There are around 300 - 400 different factors that need to be considered. The first rule is not to try and cheat the search engines, the second rule is to have a lot of content. For the other 398 rules, it is just much easier to get a Kwikwap website! + How many pages can I have on my Kwikwap website and can I load videos? You can have as many pages, videos, newsletters or pictures as you like. Your photographs e.g. can be put into different albums for easy navigation + How do I get on the first page of Google ? The question of how to get your website to the top of Google is the first question a client should ask his webmaster or himself. The top three factors are: Firstly, the technical structure of your website must be correct Secondly, your website’s content must support the “keywords” that you want to be found for Thirdly, the age of your website Some background info first: Please take note that Google (and Yahoo!, Live, Bing and other search engines all work more or less the same, but I will use Google here as it is my favourite search engine). One main thing is, never try to cheat the search engines! Your website should in the first place be written for the visitors. When one does a search on Google, there are two types of results that are returned, namely: - the “paid search results” (i.e. the ones called “Sponsored links” which are normally a different colour) - The “generic search results”, i.e the results to the left of the ads (which are on the right) or below the pink ones at the top (which are also ads) One’s internet marketing strategy should include both. Generic is cheaper (free in fact) but you can only target a few keywords on each website or webpage. With paid search you can target many different keywords in one campaign. Yes, paid search does cost money (but it is still cheaper than e.g. advertisements in newspapers, directories or television). With paid search you are spending your ad money on people that are actually looking for you or your product / service (or even your competitors’ products). The smart money has moved from traditional advertising to internet advertising (e.g ask yourself why newspapers are so big on the internet, they know print is dying!) Technical Structure of your website ü Google must be able to SEE all your website pages – therefor it is obvious that flash is a no-no (or there are even people who have just an image as their webpage. Google can’t read those images (yet!) ü Google must be able to easily navigate though all the sections of your website so that Google can see al the pages and so that they can form a complete picture of your website (yes, they are getting more and more human like!). A sitemap helps with this as well. ü Invite the search engine robots to come regularly (this is put into the code of the website) even though it costs you bandwith! ü The server on which your website is hosted must always be available (and preferably in the same country as the area that you are targeting) ü The extension of your domain (e.g. .co.za is ideal if you are targeting South Afica) ü The domain name and file name of your website is getting more and more important these days ü It helps to get professional help. What is applicable today, might not be applicable tomorrow. The professionals (should) keep abreast of changes in the search engine world. This can only happen if a person works with it every day. There is no way that a client can keep up with the ever changing environment. ü If you use one of the many so called free or cheap tools to build your own website, then it is advisable that you buy the book called SEO for Dummies (it is a 400 page book but an easy read – but you need to at least have done one year’s web design experience to make any sense of the book). Be prepared to spend a few months to build your website. Website content Your website should have as much as possible information about your chosen subject. The content should support the keywords that you want to be found for. Make sure that you have original content. It is of no use to go and copy your competitors’ information. The information should relate to your (general) subject of your website. Make sure that you regularly update the content of your website. Age of a website The people that started earlier in getting their websites optimised have got a huge advantage over new people that try to enter the market. Better you start now! Anybody that is concerned about his business’s future should already now make plans to be a the top in 6 months time (or even in 2 years from now – in the case industries that are more competitive on the internet). Why do I want to be on the first page of Google search results? I have been in this industry for about 6 years and I know what the sales graph looks like for “internet sales”. It has now overtaken the sales made the traditional way. If you are not on the first page of Google you might as well not have a website. Don’t be surprised if some little unknown competitor (who has made it his mission to be on the first page of Google) starts stealing your customers. For example who would have thought 5 years ago that eBay would become the world’s biggest car dealer? Call me today on 072 384 0771 to get your website on the first page of Google, I have got all the right tools for you! -> So where and how did Kwikwap start? We started in 2004 as a web based business software company. The Kwikwap concept was built over a two year period with lots of input from our clients and friends. -> There are free website builders, why should I pay to use the Kwikwap System There is always a catch with free things isn't there? For one, they will force you to host with them, at a cost. Secondly most of those servers are dead slow. Thirdly, if they don't ask you money, then either they will never improve their system (because developers also need to eat) or they put ghastly advertisements on your website. Fourthly, for example, you can get a free website with Google, but they don't optimise it for their own search engine (because then they will loose advertising revenue). With the Kwikwap system you are ensured that you stay up to date with technology and that you get updates for free. -> What are the catches, what do you exclude from your services? For the quoted fees we will do the basic website set-up and training for you, but please do not expect us to do: - advanced photography - advanced graphic design - advanced scriptwriting - travelling by aeroplane - email & computer support for the rest of your life -> You say that you can travel to where the client is, How does the client make payment? Once the site is set up or before.Credit card,EFT or cash?? The client pays after he is happy with the website. We normally give the client a preview of the website before we travel to him or her and we ensure that we get a good indication whether the client is serious or not. We obviously cannot drive to a client who is merely interested; we only drive to serious people. For doubtful people we will ask the person to rather come to us. We prefer cash or EFT as the agent that helps you do not necessarily have a credit card machine. Sometimes bartering can take place e.g. the author of this text once took a piece of equipment in exchange for a website! -> Do you offer these amazing and cheap websites in Johannesburg as well Yes we also design websites in Johannesburg. In fact, we have website developers around most parts of South Africa. -> So what is an interactive website? An interactive website is one that invites and allows visitors to interact with the website owner and other users; some people call this Web3. The days of a static weppage is long gone. Nowadays customers interact with each other and discuss you and your products. Users are now the biggest publishers on the Web -> How does an SMS system work In the Kwikwap system you also get a mailing list system. A mailing list system is a web based database system where you list your mailing list members. You put all kinds of information about your members (such as name, cell no, email address, notes, groups) into the database and then you just choose certain people or people that belong to certain group(s) to receive messages, whether it is by email or by SMS. You then write your message and press send! In other words, the Kwikwap SMS system is web based program that enables you to send SMS's from any PC in the world (that has internet access). Our SMS rates are 25c per sms regardless of quantities sent. That is the cheapest flat rate in SA that we are aware off. -> Can your websites be set up to recieve secure payment via credit card internationally? Is this an optional extra? Yes, our websites can accept secure payment via credit card facility. It is free included in your fee! -> Someone told me that they can guarantee me x number of hits per month. How does that work? When someone searches on Google or Yahoo, the search results that are returned consist of generic search results and “sponsored links” (i.e. paid adverts). The sponsored links are normally shaded very lightly and they appear on the right and at the top of the search results.
A “Guaranteed number of hits” works on a pay-per-click basis (i.e. you pay for every person that visits your website). Pay per click is when you bid an amount for certain keywords; i.e. keywords on search engines such as Yahoo and Google. Let us say the words that you would like to be found for is “website design”, then you decide what each click through to your website is worth. You then put your bid at a certain value, say R10 per click. The more you bid, the higher your ad will be shown. (these ads are called sponsored linksYou then set your daily or monthly budget that you are prepared to spend. Your ads are then displayed until your budget is reached. A variation of this is that you actually do it the other way round; you decide how many hits you want and how much you want to spend. Your ads are then automatically displayed to achieve the number of clicks.
Pay-per-click advertising works very good but it can become expensive, yet it still beats any other form of advertising because you get the clients eyeballs when he is actually looking for you (you don’t need to pay for the eyeballs that were not looking for you).
The cost of pay-per-click advertising depends on the industry; the more the industry has taken to the internet, the more expensive the clicks become. For example the website design industry, the clicks cost between R10 and R80 per click. The industries that have not yet taken to the internet to a great degree (for example plumbers or doctors), clicks can be as cheap as R1,50.
So if you want to be guaranteed a 1000 clicks then you are looking at spending a minimum of R1,500 per month.
-> What are generic search results? Generic search results are the results that are returned that does not cause the owner of the website to pay for the clicks (call it “free clicks” if you want). These are in other words, the results that are not shaded or called “sponsored links”. This is where you want to be as it is a lot cheaper and some people are a little weary to click on pay per click ads. If your website is designed properly and you have a lot of good content on your website, you can be sure to appear in the generic search results. -> I would like to build a directory website how do I go about building one. There are mainly two way that you can build a directory website. We have two modules that work in "levels". Give me a call on 07238 40771 and I will explain how to go about it. -> Do I have to host at you and what are the costs. I currently host for R40/month yes you have to host at us, our packages start at R59 + VAT per month. Our servers are in SA hence the slightly higher hosting fee PLUS the monthly fee is also a License Fee to use our software. Our software is what it is all about. We have a team of developers whose sole purpose in life is to improve this system all the time and they need to eat as well. Beware of the so called free softwares, there is always a catch with something that is suppose to be free. Please email info @ kwikwap .co. za and we will send you the full pricelist or download dit from Documents & Brochures on this website Ask a question
